Glucosamine/MSM Vegetarian

Glucosamine is an essential substrate for the formation of glycoaminoglycans (GAG’s) and proteoglycans, which are the main components of cartilage tissue. GAG’s and proteoglycans trap and hold water, forming a dense fluid cushion within the joint and thus, provide lubrication and shock absorption. MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a natural source of organic sulfur, a mineral necessary for the production of proteoglycans. NOW®’s unique and synergistic formula is suitable for vegetarians, because it contains only Glucosamine from a vegetarian source and not from shellfish.

What veggies is the Vegetarian Glucosamine & MSM made from?
Our new Vegetarian Glucosamine Hcl and MSM contain the patent-pending Regenasure Glucosamine Hcl from Cargill. This exciting non-shellfish source is produced via proprietary fermentation process using corn dextrose, citric acid and a non-GMO Aspergillus niger fungal starting material. To date this new vegetarian source Glucosamine product has been well received and a blessing for those who have shellfish allergies as well as providing the ONLY non-animal alternative for vegans.

Though the Cargill Company has performed no human studies at this time it is generally believed that due to the fact that this product is molecularly identical to the shellfish form it may provide beneficial support to a natural joint health program specifically designed for vegetarians.
