Prostate and Men's Health
Prostate problems affect the majority of men at some time in their lives and rank as one of the top three men's health concerns. Prostate health becomes a greater concern as men get older. All men over the age of 45 would benefit from daily prostate supplements.
What is ModuProst™?
ModuProst™ consists of Harzol®, a proprietary blend of plant sterols and sterolins, and effective herbs that will support and maintain prostate performance. Documented research and clinical trials show that Harzol®, saw palmetto and stinging nettles all have significant prostate health benefits.* Harzol®, one of the main ingredients in ModuProst™, was created in Germany 30 years ago and has been one of the leading products recommended by urologists.
How does ModuProst™ work to support prostate health?
ModuProst™ 's blend of herbal ingredients may help to decrease the factors that stimulate new
prostate cell growth, including an accumulation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). While no clear mechanism of action has been determined, researchers believe that these herbs bind to prostate cell receptors causing an anti-inflammatory effect. Saw palmetto is thought to block the conversion of testosterone to DHT and to prevent DHT from binding with prostate cells, while stinging nettles inhibit cell growth. Lycopene and green tea contain potent flavonoids that have beneficial antioxidant effects. Numerous studies have shown an association between increased lycopene and green tea intake and decreased risk of prostate problems.
Is there any clinical research to support the use of ModuProst™?
Studies have investigated the efficacy of Harzol® for improving urinary flow parameters and increased prostate performance (Lancet 1995; 345:1529-32). The secondary ingredients in ModuProst™ are known to be effective in supporting prostate health. In a review of 18 trials, saw palmetto was shown to be significantly better than the placebo to improve prostate performance (JAMA 1998;280(18):1604-1609).
What is the recommended dose of ModuProst™?
As a dietary supplement, take one capsule twice daily or as directed by a health care professional. For best results, take with juice or water between meals.
Can I take ModuProst™ with other medications and supplements?
Always consult a physician before combining a nutritional supplement with existing medication.
Are there any cautions with taking ModuProst™?
If you are a diabetic, an organ transplant recipient or have multiple sclerosis, do not use unless on the advice of and under the direct supervision of a health care professional.
ModuProst™ should not be taken by transplant patients. This includes recipients of foreign organs and tissues, including bone marrow and corneal transplants. If you are experiencing symptoms of a prostate problem, such as frequent, difficult or painful urination, consult your health care provider immediately. These symptoms may be an early warning sign of prostate cancer. A yearly prostate exam is highly recommended.
