Botanical Immune Support
Maitake mushroom (Grifola frondosa) has a long history of traditional use, but it is only recently that modern science has made possible the creation of a highly specialized maitake product, rich in beta-glucans. Dr. Nanba's Maitake Beta-Factor contains the only maitake beta-glucan fraction endorsed by the world's premier maitake researcher, Dr. Hiroake Nanba, Ph. D. This specialized beta-glucan fraction, MaitakeGold 404™, is a biological compound believed to have important health-promoting properties. Dr. Nanba's Maitake Beta-Factor combines MaitakeGold 404™ with maitake fruiting body, maitake mycelia biomass, calcium, and vitamin C. This blend offers you a full spectrum of maitake activity.
With Maitake Gold 404™ – Endorsed by Leading Maitake Researcher, Dr. Hiroaki Nanba!

Rich Source of Polysaccharides
Maitake is a rare edible mushroom that is native to northern Japan. In Japanese maitake means “Dancing Mushroom,” because people would dance for joy when they found it in deep mountain valleys.
Maitake is a rich source of polysaccharides— compounds found in some plants that are increasingly recognized for their ability to support the body’s immune defenses. Maitake’s benefits are thought to be due to specific polysaccharides known as beta-glucans, which are polysaccharides bound to proteins.
Dr. Nanba’s Discovery
Dr. Hiroaki Nanba is a professor in the Department of Microbial Chemistry at Kobe Pharmaceutical University in Kobe, Japan. He has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Immunology from Kyoto University, and is an award-winning researcher on the benefits and activities of medicinal mushrooms. He is also the author of four books and numerous peer-reviewed articles, including key studies on the benefits of maitake.
Dr. Nanba invented the process for producing the material known as Maitake DFraction. He created this term to define a polysaccharide contained in maitake. More recently Dr. Nanba further refined this fraction.
Dr. Nanba’s research led to the discovery of the specialized beta-glucan fraction known as MaitakeGold 404™. Additionally, clinical research with maitake often utilizes the mature fruiting body with a small amount of vitamin C. This is added to enhance the effects of maitake, since vitamin C has its own immuno-supporting properties. And, added to this, is the maitake fruiting body and mycelium biomass.
The result: Dr. Nanba's Maitake Beta Factor, using MaitakeGold 404™, the only maitake fraction endorsed by Dr. Nanba.
