It was there that British locals began adding steamed milk to their chocolate, and drinking it as a dessert beverage. Shortly thereafter, cocoa powder was invented by the Dutch, making it easier to prepare the drink. Today, hot cocoa is enjoyed by people young and old, from every walk of life.
