Toxic Heavy Metals
Toxic heavy metals are a significant health concern because they tend to bio-accumulate, meaning their concentration can build up in the body over time. Heavy metal compounds like lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium, as well as radioactive particles like cesium-137 and strontium-90, accumulate when they are absorbed faster than they can be broken down (metabolized) or excreted. Unfortunately, exposure is hard to avoid as our environment is full of toxins and heavy metals, found in water, air, food, household products, and other common sources.
How it Works
In the body, both pectins and alginates naturally form stacks in what is known as the "egg box" model. Each pocket of the "egg carton" contains a positively charged ion to balance the negatively charged chains. Normally the positive ions are sodium and potassium. However, toxic metals especially lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, and radioactive particles have a higher affinity for polyuronides and become trapped in the "egg box" structure so the body can easily eliminate them.
Research Supported
PectaSol MCP's ability to support the removal of toxic metals was published in a human clinical study. In this study, oral administration of PectaSol MCP to healthy humans resulted in significant urinary increases in lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury, without the depletion of essential vitamins or minerals. A separate clinical trial to investigate the ability of PectaSol MCP to decrease mercury burden, showed a significant reduction in mercury levels after five to ten months of oral administration. Heavy metal removal with PectaClear Detox Formula has been shown in case studies to play a role in beneficial clinical outcome of individuals with known high body burdens of lead and/or mercury. A study reported that PectaSol MCP significantly decreased lead levels in children (ages 5 to 12) who suffered from severe lead poisoning. In 2005 Dr Eliaz was honored with an award presented at the Scripps Annual Conference for his Original Clinical Research that shows PectaSol-C MCP reduces heavy metal toxicity.

After at least one months of using PectaClear Detox Formula we recommend the addition of EcoNugenics Detox Complete to increase chelation and further support the liver and detoxification systems.

Contraindications and Cautions
PectaClear Detox Formula has no known adverse effects or toxicity with long-term consumption. Because dietary fibers have the potential to bind to drugs and may affect absorption, it is recommended that this formula be taken at least 30 minutes away from the intake of drugs, supplements. No mineral deficiencies have been observed clinically, but as with all detoxification a multivitamin/mineral supplement is recommended to provide extra nutritional support. |
